Your trees are the biggest investment in your yard

In Phoenix a mature tree is the difference between a yard you can use in July and one you cannot. It cools the house, feeds the soil and, if it is a fruit tree, feeds you. Shady summers and healthy soil mean less irrigation and less air conditioning, which adds up to thousands over time.

That is why trees belong with true tree professionals, not common landscapers. A bad cut on a shrub grows out in a season. A bad cut on a tree can take a decade to recover from, or never. Our arborist plants, prunes, harvests, diagnoses and cares for fruiting and shade trees for the long run, and explains what he did and why before he leaves.

What we do

Everything a tree needs over its life, from the first structural pruning to the day it comes down and what grows in its place.

  • Trimming and maintenance

Structural and seasonal pruning that respects how the tree grows, so it stays strong, shaped and safe instead of hacked back every year.
  • Removals

When a tree is dead, dangerous or in the wrong place, it comes down cleanly, with the yard left tidier than we found it.
  • Disease treatment and prevention

Early diagnosis of pests, rot and stress, treatment where it helps, and the care that keeps a healthy tree from getting sick in the first place.
  • Stump grinding

The stump ground below grade so the spot is ready to plant again, not a trip hazard for the next ten years.
  • Permaculture succession

A plan for what replaces a tree that is on its way out, so shade, habitat and food keep coming as the yard changes.
  • Long-term care

Ongoing visits for your fruiting and shade trees: pruning, harvest timing, soil and irrigation checks, and someone who knows your trees by name.

How it works

Four steps, and you know the price before anyone touches the tree.

  1. Tell us about the tree

Describe the tree and what concerns you: a limb over the roof, leaves yellowing, a stump in the way, a removal you have been putting off. Add a few clear photos. The form at the top of this page takes a couple of minutes.

  2. Get an estimate

In the Phoenix Valley our own arborist comes to look. Anywhere else, we find and vet a certified arborist near you at no charge. You get a plain number for exactly the work described, and nothing is added later.

  3. The work, done cleanly

Properly equipped, roped in and safe. When the crew leaves, the yard is cleaner than they found it, and you know what was done and how to care for the tree from here.

  4. Long-term care

If you want us back, we check on the tree through the seasons: pruning, disease prevention, soil and irrigation. Trees reward the people who pay attention to them.

What customers say

Five stars, every time, from people who had a tree problem and now do not.

  • I could tell right away that Jared is a 'tree whisperer' and not just some guy with a chainsaw advertising himself as a tree trimmer.

    Patrisha L.
  • Extremely professional and helpful in giving me guidance on which branches to trim. I'd give him 10 stars if it was an option.

    Mike H.
  • Left our yard cleaner than when they arrived. Took the time to explain what they had done and how we can better care for the tree moving forward. I recommend to anyone I know that needs tree service.

    Cody G.
  • Great company, fair pricing, very professional and passionate about their work.

Pricing

Tree work is priced per job, not from a menu, because no two trees are reached the same way. The estimate is free, the number is fair, and it covers the work described. If you are weighing trimming against removal, say so and we will price both.

Questions people ask

Do you only work in Phoenix?

Our own arborist works the Phoenix Valley. If your tree is somewhere else, we find and vet a certified arborist near you, and that part is free. Either way you start the same way: tell us about the tree.

What does tree work cost?

Every job is estimated on its own, because the price depends on the tree, how it can be reached and what needs doing. We are fairly priced and the estimate is free. Describe the tree and the concern and we will come back with a number.

Why hire an arborist instead of a landscaper?

Your trees are some of the largest investments in your landscape, and a bad cut can take years to undo or kill the tree outright. An arborist knows how each species grows, how much to take and when, and what a sick tree is telling you. Most landscaping crews do not.

Can you save a tree that looks sick?

Often, if it is caught early. We diagnose first, then treat where treatment actually helps. When a tree cannot be saved, we say so plainly and plan what replaces it, so the shade and the habitat do not disappear with it.

Do you grind the stump when you remove a tree?

Yes. Stump grinding is part of what we do, and we grind below grade so you can plant in that spot again.

What is permaculture succession?

Trees have lifespans, and a yard should not lose its shade all at once. Succession means planting the next generation before the old tree is gone, and choosing species that feed the soil, the wildlife and you. We plan it alongside any removal.
